All information gathered from the employee health
and wellness screening is HIPAA
(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant.
HIPPA assures
the maintenance of the confidentiality and privacy of each
individual.
It
is recommended that the online
health assessment and employee wellness and health screening
be performed annually, with an ongoing comparative analysis
of individual and group trends. This is an essential tool
in addressing health risk exposure as well as evaluation of
steps taken to address any such health risks that are identified.
This will also provide an assessment of group health risk
stratification and change in status based on variations in
the employee population measured from year to year. It is
also recommended that online
health assessment and employee health screening be performed
at approximately the same time each year. This will be coordinated
at the time of the contract development.
The
online health assessment
and basic physical assessment
are essential elements for identifying areas of specific need
and interest. It is not unusual that the indicated areas of
need do not correspond with the indicated areas of interest.
By identifying both of these, we allow programming to address
both a perceived need (interest) and actual need. The composite
health assessment analysis will be presented and reviewed
with the Registered Nurse at the completion of the contracted
activity determined by a set date. It is recommended that
the online health assessment
and employee health and wellness screening be completed within
a 30-45 day period. This provides ample time for collection
of data and a predetermined cut off point to enable the compilation
of the summary reports.
During
the review process the RN will assist in interpreting the
presented data to optimize corporate health and wellness programming.
Additional consulting and input is available as an additional
service. An employee wellness program serves to address areas
identified as having the most benefit to the company as well
as areas identified that have the most interest to the employee.
The business must combine these two elements to have a truly
successful corporate health and wellness program.
